Grettel Mendez

Born in Havana, Cuba, Ms. Grettel began her dance journey at just four years old, training in Ballet at the Provincial School of “Alejo Carpentier.” After immigrating to the U.S. in 2003, she expanded her dance repertoire at a local studio, exploring various genres.

Following high school, Ms. Grettel taught ballet at local studios and earned her associate’s degree in Arts with a dance emphasis from HCC in 2013. She has experience as a substitute teacher for ELA high school students and is certified as a Spanish Bilingual Aide Paraprofessional. Over the past decade, Ms. Grettel has enjoyed the challenge of teaching new and beginner dancers, choreographing weddings and more than 20 Quinceañeras.

Currently, she is a senior undergraduate at Liberty University pursuing a B.S. in Psychology. Ms. Grettel is dedicated to instructing the younger generation with kindness and humility, always keeping God at the center of her teaching and interactions.
