For those that need assistance with tuition, the State of Florida offers several programs. Christian Crossings Academy is approved to participate in the programs listed below:

McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program

The McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program provides Florida students with special needs the opportunity to attend a participating private school during the school year. The McKay Scholarships Program also offers parents public school choice. A parent of a special needs student who is dissatisfied with the student’s current school may choose to transfer their student to First Christian Academy or other public or private school.

Family Empowerment Scholarship

The Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) was signed into law on May 9, 2019 and became Florida’s sixth K-12 private school scholarship program since 1999. Like the McKay Scholarship, the FES is funded through the Florida Education Finance Plan (FEFP). The FEFP also funds district public schools as well as public charter schools. The new FES program is capped at 18,000 students for 2019-20. The cap will grow by 0.25 percent of the state’s total public school student enrollment (estimated at about 7,000 students for 2020-21).
